Abstract: The June 2019 GCSE Sociology Paper 2 explores key themes in “Crime and Deviance“ and “Social Stratification.“ It assesses understanding of sociological theories, such as labelling theory, chivalry thesis, and institutional racism, and concepts like moral panic and deviance amplification. The paper examines research methods, including unstructured interviews and deprivation indices, while discussing factors like social mobility, class inequality, and poverty. It critically evaluates perspectives on inadequate socialisation, the glass ceiling, age divides, and welfare state dependency. Through applied scenarios and theoretical discourse, the paper integrates sociological analysis with practical and ethical considerations. Keywords: sociology, crime, deviance, social stratification, inequality.
