Abstract: The November 2020 GCSE Sociology Paper 2 examines key themes in “Crime and Deviance“ and “Social Stratification.“ It explores sociological concepts such as status frustration, deviant careers, and the labelling process. Discussions address hate crimes, gender disparities in crime, and societal functions of deviance, integrating perspectives from Merton and Murray. Social stratification topics include forms of inequality, welfare dependency, and class determination methods. The paper critically analyzes research methods like group interviews and systematic sampling, evaluating their limitations and applications. Themes of poverty, social inequality, and gender representation in politics are examined through applied sociological frameworks. Keywords: sociology, crime, deviance, social stratification, inequality, research methods.
