1. Translation topic: Arabic coffee tradition, cultural symbolism, UN heritage recognition, bean selection, roasting and brewing process, family knowledge transmission, social customs, gender roles in hospitality.
2. Essay options: academic excellence through time management, self-study, rest balance, artistic hobbies, physical activity, nutrition, sleep routines; alternative story or proposal for a competitive sports event with success criteria.
3. Section C themes: Arab scientists (Ibn Sina’s medical legacy, algebra’s impact), Arab arts (types and utility of carpets, urban vs rural home architecture), Arab cinema (comedy in “The Soft Hands”, police in comic films, social oppression in tragic narratives), Arab poetry (Nazik Al-Malaika’s war imagery, sorrow in “Train of Sadness”), Arab literature (identity struggle in “Bamboo Stalk”, dual-country psychological conflict in women’s narratives).
4. Paper structure: Section A (translation) = 20 marks, Section B (narrative or proposal essay) = 30 marks, Section C (research-based thematic essay) = 30 marks; total = 80 marks; exam time = 3 hours.
